1964 Triumph Spitfire Mark 2. The commission number indicates that it's an original 1964 Spitfire 4 Mark 1 built in September 1964, but the intent was for the restoration to include the Mark 2's larger and more powerful version of the 1147 cc engine. Therefore, the four vehicles (eventually combined into one car over nine years) were restored into a Mark 2 model. The Los Angeles, CA dealer's invoice was used to add all of the factory-installed "special orders" as well as the dealer-installed "options." Originally purchased in 1980 the car was completed in 1989, including seven patient years of waiting until a tub without holes was located - in Wisconsin from a guy named Glenn Miller who delivered it the bed of his pickup truck to Massachusetts for an extra $100. The rarest item, which required 27 years of searching, are the period-correct rear mudflaps!
